Long Winter is coming to an end

Its been a long and cold January but now its almost over. I have cut my fire wood for next season this winter, the house burns approx. 20 cords for heat and hot water and I put up an additional 10 cords for the maple sugaring operation.

I have been working in the woods fixing and preparing my maple sap lines, there in good shape and I have already tapped approx. 400 of my 1700 total taps. I hope to be completed tapping the first week of February, weather permitting. I try to boil during the warmer spring days starting in February around 4pm in the afternoon until about 7-8pm. The public is always welcome to stop by and visit the sugar house when you see steam coming out of the cupola. When we are boiling, we give out free samples of maple syrup. Come see the new Leader Vortex evaporator in action.

Garden plots I will be renting again this spring starting in April. Call me in April, schedule a time to come by and see the area and place a deposit. Still only $30 for a large 30’x30′ area with great sun light and soil. You must use organic principles, keep all dogs on a leash at all times and supply your own water.

Think Spring !!
