Its been a busy and beautiful spring in Vermont on the farm. Last week we planted 1200 new balsam fir Christmas trees which should grow up in 7-8 years for Cut Your Own trees. Also 2 weeks ago I received 50 new baby chickens which are used for pest control in the berry fields come summer time. This week I got 5 baby ducklings which will be free range this summer along with the chickens. Customers love the chickens for the company and I think the ducklings will be a welcome attraction. Today I mow the lawns for the first time, finish preparing the community garden plots. Wish to plant cover crops this season as part of the weed control program I have for the pumpkin patches. Always lots too do !!
